Privacy notice
The short version (for kids): We don't ask who you are. We don't use accounts, ads or trackers. Your answers stay on your own device. At the end you may choose to share them without your name to help us improve, and only if you (and a parent or guardian, if you're under 18) say yes.
What stays on your device
To remember your choices, the site saves your first name (if you typed one), age group, picked interests, working styles, saved careers, checklist ticks, recently viewed careers, light or dark mode and your language choice in your browser's local storage. This never leaves your device. Clear your browser data or press "Start over" to delete it. Your browser may also keep a copy of the site's pages on your device so they open quickly and work offline. We do not use cookies on the main site. The only cookie anywhere is a login cookie used by the site owner on the private admin page.
What we collect, only if you choose to share
After you see your results you can tick a box to share. Before sending you can see exactly what will be sent. It is only:
| Item | Why |
|---|---|
| Age group (Explorer, Trailblazer or Pathfinder) | To see which careers suit which ages |
| Interests you picked and working styles | To see which interests are popular |
| Your top 3 suggested careers | To improve the suggestions |
| Whether it was helpful (optional) | To improve the site |
| Today's date (no time) | To spot trends over months |
We do not collect: your name, email, phone, school, exact age or birthday, location, IP address, device or browser details, or anything typed in free text. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers, do not profile or track you across sites, and never sell or share this data.
Why we can say it is anonymous
Each record has no name or ID that connects it to a person or a device, so we cannot tell who sent it and cannot look up or edit one person's record. Results are only shown as combined counts, and groups with fewer than 5 records are hidden.
Children and parents
Sharing is switched off by default. For anyone under 18, sharing needs a parent or guardian to say it is OK (a tick box). If you are a parent or guardian and want to talk to us, contact us below. We aim to follow the principles of child-privacy rules such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, the GDPR (including its rules for children), and COPPA in the United States: collect as little as possible, ask first, and never track children.
Your choices
- Use the whole site without sharing anything. Nothing is required.
- If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal, the share button is switched off automatically.
- Records are deleted after 12 months.
Chat assistant
If you use the chat assistant, this part is different from the rest of the site and is not anonymous. We save what you type, the assistant's replies, the time, the page you were on, your browser and device type, and your IP address. A random chat ID is kept in your browser's local storage (not a cookie) so your conversation can continue. The assistant is our own program: it answers from a library of answers kept on our server, and your messages are not sent to any outside AI service. Please do not type personal details such as full names, phone numbers, addresses or passwords. The site owner can read saved chats to improve the service and fix problems. Chats are deleted automatically after 12 months, and earlier on request: email the address below and we will delete them.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server may keep standard technical logs (for example the time and address of a request) for a short time to keep the site secure and working. We do not link them to your answers and do not use them to identify or track anyone.
Keeping data safe
Records are stored on our server in a protected folder that can't be opened from the web, and only the site owner can view the combined counts after signing in.
